M,mbelwa District Council is a local government authority for Mzimba district. Mzimba is the largest district in Malawi. It borders Zambia to the west, Kasungu District to the
south, Nkhata Bay District to the east, Nkhotakota District to the southeast, and Rumphi District
to the north. The total land area of the district is 10,382 square kilometres. It is linked with other
districts mainly through the M9 road, which connects to the Mzuzu - Lilongwe M1 road.
