The Government of Malawi intends to rehabilitate and surface selected section of Arae 23/Chipiku Stores to Chiuzila Junction within Lilongwe. The Government has set aside funds in the 2021/22 fiscal year to finance the construction works on the road project
The main economic activity will improved due to delivery of essential commodities to the Area 23 market, reduction in the travel time due to use of improved road, market for locally available construction material to the contractor working on this project and provision of employment to the local works force.
